"Better than Rasika!"

"As a brown person, I'm always looking for excellent South Asian dining options as a way to skip cooking for the week. If you've ever made South Asian food, you'd know it's some of the most time-consuming cuisine to make. Hence why there are so many terrible South Asian restaurants that take short-cuts in terms of cooking or using quality ingredients."

"We've been dining at Kadhai for years and it still stands out as top-notch Indian food. Whether we're dining in or ordering take-out, we've never been disappointed! Must-tries include the crispy spinach (palak chaat), butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, kabobs, lacha parata, and gajar halwa!"

"I've ordered from here several times. It's always a solid choice. The meals can easily be split for two or leftovers. I've tried their aloo gobi and saag paneer, and I'm happy with my order every time."

"Hopefully, I can enjoy dine in service in the near future."

Heather H. (Baltimore, MD)

"Thoroughly enjoyed this North Indian restaurant which serves grilled and stewed meat, chicken and seafood, vegetable curries, and traditional appetizers. The portions are huge! Easily shareable between two people. And the naan is soft and chewy. We ordered the bhel puri, a popular appetizer, tandoori chicken, hariyali chicken tikka, butter chicken and eggplant stew. For outdoor seating, guests can avail of a streatery outside that is shared among multiple restaurants on the block."

"Great food and excellent service! Prices are fair for Bethesda area. Highly recommend and will definitely go back."

"One of the best quality indian food around Maryland that is my go to! I always order the same thing: Chicken Tikka marsala, Butter chicken, Garlic Naan, and one tip is you can ask to make anything spicy. So I get mine extra spicy for a kick."

Esther R. (Baltimore, MD)

"Pleasant surprise to find such good Indian in Baltimore. Ambiance was a little dated, but food was excellent. Chicken tikka masala, baingan bharta, tandoori grill, naan, lassis - all excellent. Rice was delicious (and that's important). Hit all the spots. Solid."

"I am so glad they have stayed open during the pandemic. The butter chicken is the only thing our 3 year old will eat consistently l. They always have the food prepared early for our take out as well. If you order from them they offer the butter chicken sauce only which is good to mix with rice. Can't say enough good things about them 5 stars from us."

"...a few of its competitors can match its level of skill."

"A little on the pricey side for Indian food but VERY GOOD! Ordered Chicken Tikka appetizer and Yellow Tadka - for take out. Staff were very nice"

"Kadhai has rightfully been a Bethesda mainstay for many years. The food is consistently tasty, portions are hearty and hospitality is unfailing."

"Kadhai's food has grown even better in recent months, perhaps in response to added competition. My recent delivery order of butter chicken, lamb shah korma and saag paneer was perfect. Flavors were rich, comforting and beautifully developed (diner preferences as to spiciness are meticulously honored; the default level of spiciness, perfect for my palate, is medium spicy.) Breads and basmati rice are good-- not standouts, but very enjoyable."

"I enjoy trying various Indian restaurants in the area, but always come back to Kadhai-- it is popular for good reason!"

A N. (Bethesda, MD)

"This was delicious! Went here the other night for indoor dining (woo vaccines!) and had a great time. The food was delicious! We got the lamb kadhai, chicken, and saag paneer, along with a bread basket, gulab jamun, ras malai, and gajar halwa. Everything was soo good. The waitstaff were great and took care of us as well - all wearing masks. What a nice find in downtown Bethesda! Support local business!"

The C. (Washington, DC)

"Well I tried this place out, I actually know the owner I didn't recognize him until I was leaving. He is a really nice guy. Non the less. Really good food and the dishes are fresh. I recommend in the Bethesda area."

Ajay G. (Los Angeles, CA)

"Friday night take out. The place is packed as usual. Understandable for such good food. Ordered and was told 20 minutes, 45 mins later was the actual wait time. There was disorganized chaos. Staff overwhelmed and rushing, focused. "

"Yet the food is always excellent. Standards we enjoy: naan, samosa, palak chat, dal makhani, eggplant purée (bb), saag paneer, tandoori salmon, shrimp masala. So yummy. Makes several dinner meals for my family of 3."

"We have gotten takeout from Karnak twice recently. It remains a tasty treat in the middle of strange times."
